RECYCLING THROUGH EDUCATION
Our perspective is to enhance the education of the poor countries of South America while introducing environmental and health care issues and their importance. We help provide material and staff for the schools, while promoting recycling and its benefits. We allow people from western countries to go to Bolivia and get a great experience dealing with children. Our objective is to diminish the difficulties that exist for the children there to attend classes, by enabling schools to offer them more services like lunches, after-school watches,… with the money we collect for them.
We believe that by increasing the access to education for children, that by increasing the education level of the poor people, we diminish many of the economical and cultural problems of a civilisation. We allow parts of the population to have the same access to more rewarding jobs as the fortunate part of the population in the future. By doing this, we are allowing them the opportunity to give a better life to their own children later.
Increasing the education level of a population also renders a better health for them. In fact, by educating the children on the mecanisms of some epidemic issues such as food and water contamination, how to treat a diarhea and many more problems, we avoid an important number of morbidity amongst the population. A better health also means less expenses for the health care system and means therefore a better use of the money for education. As the loop goes on, it is the whole system that benefits.
The key points of our project are:
EDUCATION & CONCIENSALISATION
-promotion of education: material support, teaching, projects
-education of the children to increase consciousness of environmental & health care issues
-education by countrywide propagation of information concerning recycling; its purpose, its consequence on our lives and those of our children to come.
HELP FROM HOME
There is so many things we can do and often are not aware of for the rest of the planet. We decided to focus on one of those countries that need help: Bolivia.
In fact, we often throw out things that can still be used and we replace them by new ones. An important aspect of our recycling “theme” is that that used or simply obsolete material can be distributed to children in Bolivia. Simple things can help them have a much more efficient education. For example, how can a child learn without a pen? Without nice books? Without a computer? How can he hope to go to university without a printer? How can he learn if he can’t even see on the chalkboard?
Recycling used glasses for children is therefore one of the aspect of our project. At least, we take away one handicap from them, so they can deal with their other daily life problems with more attention. Learn more about the “glasses for all project”
We also collect computers, pens, notepads, sheets or anything else that is suitable for a good school year and we welcome you to help us by collecting as well. Contact us!
We will also soon be working on an educational CD for children.
We have also set up different projects to raise funds to pay for the shipping fees, to buy the necessary material, to pay teachers and schools there and also to take care of all our other project’s expenses.
