The average salary of a bolivian worker is of 100$ per month. Both parents usually work, but because they have many children, have a lot of problems even feeding their children. Because of their economic situation, many kids don’t get the opportunity to attend classes fully and start working with their parents, selling goods on the street or in the fields. The ones that attend classes often lack the needed material to learn such as paper, pens, notepads,… and some of them have eyesight problems that they have to deal with. The prices of the glasses there are too high for the parents to afford. Our objective with this project is to recuperate used glasses from optometrists’ and ophtalmologists’ offices to ship to Bolivia. A trained local ophthalmologist will visit the schools and mesure the eyesight of each children. A pair of glasses that matches will be distributed for free to the children with deficiencies.
Talk to your optometrist and bring him an empty carton box with a paper saying
Give your used pair to a Bolivian child – Ecomerica.
Thank you! (you can then recuperate the box when full and ship it to our address or contact us first so we arrange everything).
Note: Remember that each pair counts! We refund your shipping fees if you claim them!
